The Brief

Their ideal scheme was bespoke and elegant, but still inspiring and able to link with Cambridge’s scientific community, creating a marketing idea that wows and draws people into the area that like to have sophisticated shopping destinations to buy luxury items. Wow factor was needed, but it was equally important to abide by tradition!

What We Did

The high narrow malls of Grand Arcade have limited display space, and sightlines to retailers have to be maintained – and so staggering drape light curtains at varying heights helped create a sense of depth through layering and accumulation, and the varying viewpoints while walking through the mall enhanced the sense of envelopment.

We created a new star pendant decoration in amber tones to work alongside the drapes, staggering these further to fill the space.

In the central atrium, we took the star pendant and expanded upon it (literally!) – creating our mirrored centrepiece hanging star decoration in huge scale, lit with thousands of twinkling lights. Drape lights on the balustrades completed the look, and the bronze, copper and amber colour palette kept things sophisticated and in keeping with the ambience of the centre.
