The Brief

The Dolphin were in the midst of a development, and wanted decorations to complement the to-be-refurbished shopping centre, with the ‘wow’ factor to drive Christmas footfall and increase spend in the centre. The design needed well-positioned decorations that would turn heads, would fit with the centre as it was, and would also work with the bordering-on-clinical black and white linear design of the refurbishment.

Impactful centrepieces to encourage social media sharing were essential, as was a traditional real Christmas tree in the public realm outside the entrance.

What We Did

Adding pops of colour to the clinical white space was a priority, and our red Organic balls, illuminated from within, worked well during the daytime and the evenings to catch the eye and let people know Christmas had arrived. Building from here with curved, natural-shaped branch decorations in pure white helped soften the square edges of the malls, and our imposing Christmas Stag with branch antlers dripping in lights and baubles made an impressive and popular centrepiece.

We took the scheme into the outdoor spaces using a real tree dressed with Antares starbursts in the Public Square, and added illuminated reindeer sculptures to the bus station canopy roof to draw customers in towards the entrances.
