The Brief
The Bentall Centre Christmas scheme had several important requirements – they wanted to increase dwell time, optimise retail spend, and create unrivalled & unique Christmas scenery. They wanted great coverage and impact on each level of the mall, to enhance the entrances and approaches, and to give the main atrium a sense of fullness (no mean feat when you consider that the main atrium is higher than the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral!
What We Did
We stepped away from the traditional Christmas theme to create a scheme full of warm white and pure white lights, using natural forms to create daffodil-head inspired starbursts and huge golden mirrored chandeliers, dripping with lights and crystals, staggered throughout the huge open spaces to give a sense of depth and height. For the exterior parts of the centre we highlighted the contours of the buildings with our Magic Lite, and covered the external columns with long drape lights to sensitively highlight the architecture.
